On December 17, 2014, Presidents Barack Obama and Raul Castro launched a new era in U.S.-Cuba relations. With their historic announcement, they opened the door for Americans and Cubans to develop diplomatic, cultural, commercial and financial ties between our two countries. We have been working for decades to make this moment a reality. The name “D17” captures both this pivotal date and our excitement to now help explore and forge the opportunities that are emerging between our two nations.

The new U.S.-Cuba relationship opens opportunities that can benefit people, businesses, and institutions in both countries. D17’s mission is to help seize these opportunities now – and to help clients to develop long-term strategies as laws, regulations and policies evolve in both the United States and Cuba.
