The XIII edition of the largest and most important visual arts event held in Cuba, began on April 12 and for a month will dress the streets of Havana with the works of more than 200 creators from 52 countries, including Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean; as well as from the United States, all invited from the quality of their works and the correspondence of their projects with the central theme of this edition: The construction of the possible. This is the long-awaited Havana Biennial, a cultural event where creators and the public interact in a unique way. The city is transformed into a gallery of live art, workshops, presentations, conferences, many are the activities that accompany the event that, in this thirteenth edition is done extensively to other provinces of the island; Pinar del Río, Matanzas, Cienfuegos and Camagüey are the chosen ones.

Under the general theme “Construction of the Possible”, the next edition of the Havana Biennial was presented as a space for those types of contemporary art that understand creation as “a living event or an experience in progress”.
Among the main objectives of the XIII Biennial of Havana is to encourage interaction between artists, curators, experts and institutions as commented during the opening of the event, Margarita González, deputy director of the Wilfredo Lam Center.
