AN ISLAND PASSIONATED BY THE ARTS GIVES EACH YEAR INTENSE PROGRAM OF CULTURAL FESTIVALS, PERENNIAL INVITATION TO THE ENJOYMENT OF DANCE, THEATER, MUSIC, FILM AND LITERATURE

The beautiful city of Holguín hosts one of the most picturesque festivals in the region: the Romerías de Mayo International Festival. It is said that young people are the most enthusiastic of the event, but more and more tourists of all ages and countries are attracted to this celebration of art and religious syncretism.

But if we talk about religious syncretism, the Caribbean Festival and Fiesta del Fuego is without doubt the most important cultural event in the Caribbean. Every July, Santiago de Cuba explodes in a multicolored party, with streets shaken by music, dance and theater. The celebrations culminate with the tour of the Snake Parade until reaching the Alameda facing the sea, where El Diablo is burned, a doll in whose incineration, according to the premises, the bad omens are exorcised and good luck is summoned in Please present

With an almost national presence, the new Latin American and Caribbean Theater Season, May Teatral, brings together on this occasion a representative sample of the varied work in the region, sponsored by the Casa de Las Américas.

For the plastic arts and crafts, Havana has an already indispensable appointment: the Art Fair in the Ramp. Creators from all over the country show their most recent inspirations during July and August, in a busy trade fair that is based in the Cuba Pavilion of La Rampa Avenue in the capital of Vedado.

A more cosmopolitan variant is the International Craft Fair (FIART), which will bring together exhibitors from almost every region of the world next December. Spain, Mexico, Panama and Colombia, among other countries, display their striking stands for two weeks and the Cuban public fills the halls, eager to censor the latest trends in ceramics, furniture, footwear, textiles, goldsmithing, blacksmithing and stained glass.

Founded in 1984, the Havana Biennial is recognized as one of the most important events of the fine arts in the Caribbean region, with an enthusiastic participation of Cuban and foreign artists, who invade public spaces and institutions with their innovative ways of understanding the reality. Each year exceeds the previous edition, with bold, provocative proposals, always suggestive. The Havana Biennial is a festival not to be missed if you want to understand where contemporary art walks.

For February, when temperatures give a respite to the eternal Caribbean summer, the legendary fortification of San Carlos de La Cabaña receives hundreds of thousands of readers and almost a hundred editorial stamps, during the International Book Fair. The event also hosts concerts, conferences and literary awards, and includes in its exhibition tour to almost all the provinces of the country.

If art is the expression of harmony and, above all, of the spiritual harmony of peoples, let yourself be seduced by the arts in Cuba, an island of eclectic manifestations more always attractive.
