Cuban Nature

Many of his areas are internationally recognized for representing a natural world heritage. Such are the cases of the Guanahacabibes, Buenavista, Baconao and Cuchillas del Toa Biosphere Reserves and the Alejandro de Humboldt and Desembarco del Granma national parks.

To all this immense natural potential of Cuba is added its rich and attractive history, which goes back to the so-called discovery of America, to the legends of corsairs and pirates, the well-known Route of the Slave and its production of sugar and coffee, and the striking Route of Tobacco, until our times.

It is an attractive country so that, exponentially, visitors from all over the world make it their favorite place of rest, knowledge, nature, sustainability and adventure.

Bird watching

  • Great Natural Park Biosphere Reserve in Ciénaga de Zapata (Matanzas). In Salinas de Brito the presence of endemic and migratory aquatic birds stands out, such as Pink Flamingos, Herons, Sevillas, Corúas, Pelícanos, Gavilanes, Patos and Gallinuelas, among others.
  • El Bagá Natural Park (Cayo Coco and Cayo Guillermo). In the Laguna de la Leche there is an abundant fauna rich in diversity of species: Tocororo, Carpintero Churroso, Mayito de la Ciénaga, Cernícalo, Zunzún, Martín Pescador, Falcón, Gavilán del Monte and migratory species such as the Huyuyo Duck.

Trekking

  • Viñales Valley National Park (Pinar del Río): The San Vicente Valley Trail – Ancón (5 km walk), Camino al Caimito (16 km), Through the heart of the Valley (10 km), Between Valleys and Mountains ( 8 km). All of low and medium complexity.
  • Alturas de Banao Ecological Reserve – Sabina (Sancti Spíritus): Alturas de Banao Hike (22 km). Complexity high.
  • Turquino National Park: Walk to the Roof of Cuba (17.45 km). Complexity high.

Diving

  • María la Gorda International Diving Center (Pinar del Río): For beginners and experienced, with water transparency and visibility of up to 30 m.
  • International Barracuda Diving Center (Varadero): With 32 points of coral reefs and depths between 4 and 35 m.
  • Faro Luna (Cienfuegos): With 40 excellent diving sites and visibility of waters up to 25 m.

Horseback riding

  • Finca Alcalá and Parque Cristóbal Colón (Holguín).
  • El Palmito Farm and Lomas de Banao Ecological Reserve (Sancti Spíritus).

Speleotourism

  • Santo Tomás Cave (Viñales, Pinar del Río). With an extension of 2.8 km.
  • Saturn Cave and Santa Catalina Cave (Matanzas). With an extension of 20 and 25 m, respectively.

Botanical Gardens

  • National Botanical Garden (Havana): It has 600 ha and more than 4,000 plant species.
  • Botanical Garden of Cienfuegos: Treasures more than 2,000 species of plants.
  • Garden of the Ferns (Santiago de Cuba): It exhibits some 360 ​​species in 3,000 m² of route.
